Deborah Galloway Assistant Choreographer
Deborah Galloway works as a freelance Choreographer, Movement Director, Producer and Artistic Director of Needlefoot
Deborah’s experience in the arts as a dancer, actor and physical performer underpins her unique choreographic style, which is founded on contemporary dance but draws on a wide range of artistic influences. Her creative starting point is the external human world and its places and stories.
A love of ballet led to training at The Royal Ballet School and Bush Davies before graduating from Manchester University with a BA (Hons) Drama in 1995. Deborah later trained in contemporary dance and choreography on the professional diploma programme at Trinity-Laban Conservatoire for Music & Dance (2006-07).
Her work includes dance productions, movement consultation and motion capture for playstation games, creating choreography for Lara Croft Avatar/performer headlining at events, game launches and tv appearances worldwide, A dance film at Kew Palace, Site-Specific pop-up shows, Museum Lates, Musicals and Dance-theatricals for the theatre.
Deborah has worked as a freelance animateur for Rambert Dance Company since 2007. Most recently as choreographic assistant for Mark Baldwin on his new commission ‘Not a cloud in the Sky’ for Ballett des Staatstheaters, Saarbrücken, Germany (Premiere May 2014) and Choreographer for Vintage Rambert: a site-specific dance theatrical which performed at Canada Water Culture Space Aug 2013 and as part of the Gala Celebrations in the new Rambert building on the South Bank, December 2013.
