Adelene Stanley Dancer
Born in Singapore, Adelene began her dance training at the School of The Arts before moving to London to train professionally at Rambert School where she graduated with First-Class Honours in her BA (Hons) Degree. Her achievements include several scholarships from the Singapore National Arts Council and Nederlands Dans Theatre, as well as Outstanding Performance Awards in 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2013. Her choreographies have also won 1st place at international dance competitions in 2017 & 2018.
Adelene was a company artist with Frontier Danceland from 2016-2018, touring to festivals in Israel, France and Taiwan, working with choreographers such as Shahar Binyamini, Sita Ostheimer, Gabrielle Nankivell, Thomas Lebrun, among others. Prior to her return to Singapore, she was an artist with INALA in 2014 working in collaboration with 4-time Grammy Award winners Ladysmith Black Mambazo, choreographer Mark Baldwin and dancers from Royal Ballet and Rambert Dance Company. She finished two seasons comprising of 58 shows including one for the British Royal Family during the Royal Variety Performance, a UK tour and two international tours to Edinburgh and Moscow. As an original cast member of INALA, she is thrilled to be back this time round working with the Soweto Gospel Choir.
Apart from dancing, teaching and choreographing, Adelene enjoys collaborating with different creatives including musicians, designers and videographers. She has been featured in music videos, exhibitions, TV commercials and short films which have won awards in New York and California. Adelene is currently a freelance artist based in Singapore.
