Hicaro Nicolai Dancer
Hícaro began his studies in classical ballet at the age of four, studying tap dance, jazz, piano, capoeira and Martha Graham's modern technique. In 2003, he graduated from the Royal Ballet School, Brazil.
In 2004, he joined the SESIMINAS Cia de Dança and in 2007 the Ballet Jovem Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte for five years, being Awarded Best Dancer of 2011 in the Usiminas Sinparc Culture Award. With Ballet Jovem, he had the opportunity to work with the best Brazilian choreographers and with Adriaan Luteijn from Introdans, Netherlands.
In 2013 Hícaro furthered his studies in performance and moved to São Paulo and trained in Musical Theatre at the renowned SESI/SP. Before graduating in 2016, he joined the cast of ‘É Proibido Miar’ (a children's musical) and the musical play ‘Hoje é Dia de Maria’.
Now, living in London, his recent work includes an international tour of the dance musical ‘Voices of the Amazon’ (Saddlers Wells/Singapore/Moscow) by Sisters Grimm. He continues to work hand in hand with Sisters Grimm on various projects (workshops and castings) and is delighted to have been part of their latest workshops for an upcoming West End show ‘INALA’.
